Getting ready for Italiaaa

Hello there!

Just four days left before my big trip in Italy and you won't be seeing me here for two and a half weeks because I won't have internet or time to update my blog! Anyhow, I must say that I am freaking out right now (as expected). I remember when I had this feeling before going to Spain and in the end I thought what a waste of energy on worrying about my trip all that time! All my guy friends are always so relaxed about their trips and I envy them so much!  I wish I was the kind of person who could just go with the flowww and take it easy! I guess it's a woman thing. I always have to plan my trips like two months beforehand. It seems like I have the Monica Geller syndrom who always has to have everything in order and organized perffectly! I admit it I am strange...

On the other hand you might be thinking why do I want to travel so much if it freaks me out ? Well, the main reason is that I want to overcome my fear of traveling and doing things on my own. Most of my friends are students and they have busy schedules so they can't travel with me. I don't want to be the kind of person who is going to regret for something in the future just because I didn't have the courage to do it on my own. Plus that's what a gap year is for...to live la vida locaaa!

I am sure that each trip is going to teach me something new about life. Just going to Spain on my own was a huge step for me, but it really helped me realize some things about myself. It is true what they say that traveling opens up your mind :)

Loved the sunny day we had yesterday, why did it have to start raining again?? Why??

Again a long post but thanks for reading! :)

Mission accomplished!

¡Hola amigos!

Hope you all had a great weekend! I spent the laziest weekend ever... comfortably wearing my pjs and watching friends on Tv. I still didn't get to use my new dance shoes but tomorrow I have a salsa class so hoooreey!

Oh besides being lazy the whole time I got to finish my diary/photoalbum (click here) that I have been making about my trip in Barcelona! Usually I am the kind of person who is excited to start a project but never finishes it. I admit it...I am a human being and I have flaws! But I am glad I finished it because now I can go through the pages and remember all the nice things I did in Barca! In the future I will try to be more determined and try to finish all the things I start.

Me likey this song! :)

Happy sunday!

V-day's present

¡Hola!

Hello there lovers around the world! No man for me this year (or any previous years hehe) but at least I got a good gift for valentine's day! My salsa shoes finally arrived and I couldn't be happier right now...it felt like Christmas again when I opened my package!

I ordered them a month ago and I got them now, but it was worth waiting. I had been looking for dance shoes but everywhere they were so expensive. Luckily I bumped on a website where they had sales so I bought two pairs with 60 euros ( 75 with the shipping) which is super cheap for dance shoes!

Of course the minute I got them I tried them on so here they are! The colour of the first pair is quite bright gold even though when I ordered them the colour looked darker on the picture. Anyway I am happy with them like that :)
Me happy! :D

Happy Valentine's day!

This and that

Hello there!

What can I say about these past few days? Well, I have been having mixed feelings (again). I guess we all have these days where we don't really know what our feelings are. I guess the problem about me is that I have too many things in my head ( as usual...dah! ).

I guess I am becoming a bit desperate with my University hunt as it seems to be so difficult to find one that I like in Spain....but still not impossible! I am determined that I am going to find one and get accepted no matter how hard I need to work for it. I guess in life you have to wish less and act more!

Thankfully I have a great family and friends who are supporting me with all this! :)

Also now that I started the new salsa class I have become alive again! Who could imagine that dancing could make somebody so happy :D (as if I haven't said this before on my blog heh)

Another thing that has been making me happy these cold days of February (whenever I don't have a dance partner to dance with...which happens quite often) is  chocolate. Give me a cup of hot chocolate and I will be happy :) I should probably make one right now...hehe

And to continue with my bachata song collection hehe
(Yeah I know I am becomig a bit obsessed with this stuff )

Muchos besos xoxo

Salsa, shopping and music

Holaa!!

Yesterday I had my second salsa lesson but next week I will be changing class because this was a bit too easy for me. Hopefully the next level is going to be better for me! Thankfully I met Miguel in one salsa event and since then once in a while we have been dancing together. I am not the only salsa geek after all! :D One of these days I am going to make a video of us dancing and put it on here (if it turns out good hehe) to show our new dance figures!

So far life is good! Me happy :D

From one thing to another here are some pictures of the new scarf I bought for 2 euros! I like it a lot and it is a nice head band as well :) The joys of shopping! hehe

Here is a bachata song I have listened way too many times today...enjoy!

Couch surfing

Hello there!

Long time no see huh?! Well, here I am once again! This last week I have been realising that my trip to Italy is in 20 days! Now I remember how I felt before going to Spain...I was afraid and excited at the same time. The difference is that now I will be doing a "roadtrip" around Italy and I won't be staying in only one place.

As I said a while ago I will be traveling with couch surfing. You don't know what it is? Well, shortly explained it's a website where you can find people around the world who can host you or show you around when you visit their city. For example I made a profile on couch surfing and I put a request that I will be in Rome on specific dates and people who are in Rome and can host me for those days can get in touch with me. Does it sound a bit terrifying staying with a stranger? To be honest you never know what might happen, but at least you can check the profile of each person and read the comments they have received from other people who have stayed with them.  I got about 50-60 requests from people in Rome who wanted to host me and more from other cities in Italy that I will be visiting.

Call me crazy for taking the risk on trying it out, but when you are traveling alone with a small budget I don't have the luxury to think about staying in a hotel for two weeks. I have heard positive things about it and I think it is a good way to get to know new people. Of course I have been very carefull and I always read the comments these people have received from other couch surfers, that way I can avoid staying with weird people. Otherwise my plan B is to get a hostel, but hopefully I want need to do so!

So far I don't know how it's going to be like, but I will tell my experiences when I am back from my crazy trip :D
